The Chair's Activities
The Chair conducts in-depth research on the following four topics:
The challenges of interculturality in the context of globalisation.
This consists of analysing processes leading to the universalisation of cultures and examining the social, legal, geopolitical and philosophical challenges of globalisation.
The foundations of interculturality
This issue is examined from a historical and cultural anthropological perspective.
Intercultural understanding
The development of mutual understanding between cultures widens universality and is a key factor in social cohesion and peaceful coexistence, if not to say interstate stability.
Cultural memory, particularly that of minorities and indigenous peoples.
Un premier séminaire a eu lieu les 23 et 24 avril 2009 qui sera suivi de deux journées : la première aura lieu le 15 octobre 2010 et la deuxième en octobre 2011. Après examen de leur contenu, un certain nombre de cours donnés à l’IDHL et dans d’autres unités de l’Université Catholique de Lyon ont été « labellisés » dans le cadre de la Chaire. Read next page
